Nowadays, the water quality is seriously polluted. Many industrial wastewater must be treated before it can be discharged. 1. Excessive or low concentration of colloidal impurities is not conducive to coagulation. When inorganic metal salts are used as coagulants, different colloid concentration needdifferent amounts of Al 3 + and Fe 3 + needed for destabilization.

2. pH value is also an important factor affecting coagulation. The coagulation of any wastewater with a certain coagulant has a relatively optimal pH value, which makes the coagulation reaction fastest speed,smallest floc solubility and best coagulation effect. Generally, the best pH value can be obtained through experiments, which often needs to be adjusted by adding acid or alkali. Usually, alkali is more likely to be added.

3. Water temperature also has some influence on coagulation. When the water temperature is high, the viscosity decreases, Brownian motion accelerates and collision opportunities increase, thus improving the coagulation effect and shortening the coagulation sedimentation time. However, when the temperature exceeds 90 ℃, the polymer flocculant is easy to aging to form insoluble substances, thus reduce the flocculation effect.

4. Coexistence of impurities is not conducive to coagulation. Phosphoric acid ion, sulfite ion and advanced organic acid ion can hinder the flocculation of polymer. In addition, chlorine, chelates, water-soluble polymers and surfactants are not conducive to coagulation.
