Contrastive Analysis of Energy Consumption of MVR Evaporator and Multi-effect Evaporator

With the severe environmental protection situation, MVR evaporator gradually replaces multi-effect evaporator with absolute advantage of low energy consumption, and occupies an important position in the whole evaporation market.

As we all know, evaporation is a very energy-consuming process. It is very important to compare MVR evaporator with multi-efficiency consumption when the market steam price is rising and the operation cost is getting higher and higher.


1. Different energy-driven modes

MVR evaporator uses electricity to run. There is no carbon dioxide emission problem.No steam, no boiler, no coal and oil, no chimney, no carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emissions.

Multi-effect evaporator uses fresh steam as energy source. In the process of using it, besides consuming steam, it also consumes part of electric energy.

Similarly, the energy savings of MVR evaporator and multi-effect evaporator are closely related to the unit price of fresh steam and electricity price.


2. Different consumption of evaporated quantity of water

MVR evaporator consumes almost no steam. It consumes 20-80 kilowatt-hour electricity to evaporates one ton of water (different media consume different electricity).

The power consumption of multi-effect evaporator is 8-15 kW per ton of water. In the process of using, besides the power consumption, it also needs to consume steam. The multi-effect evaporator is driven by the heat exchange between steam and material.

Therefore, MVR evaporator has saved a part of operation cost compared with multi-effect evaporator in steam consumption.


3. Different operating costs (specific data analysis):

The energy consumption of the evaporator which evaporates 50 tons of water per hour is compared.

The evaporator works 24 hours a day, running 330 days a year, and the steam is 200 yuan per ton.

The cost of water per ton of traditional evaporator is about 50 yuan per ton. The cost of MVR evaporator per ton of water is 22 yuan per ton.

Then one year can save (50-22)*50*24*330=11088000 yuan.

If the cost of the MVR evaporator is 18 million, the total investment of the MVR evaporator can be recovered in less than two years.

The energy consumption of MVR evaporator is generally one third to one quarter of the traditional multi-effect evaporator, and the operation cost saved by using MVR evaporator will be a large enterprise profit.

At present, MVR evaporator has been widely used in chemical industry, light industry, pharmaceutical industry, seawater desalination, wastewater treatment and other industrial production because of its unique energy-saving advantages.
