The chemical industry includes two major categories: organic chemical and inorganic chemical. The chemical products are diverse and the composition is complex. The wastewater discharged from the chemical plant is called chemical wastewater. There are many kinds of chemical wastewater, most of which are highly toxic, not easy to purify, and have a certain accumulation effect in the living body. It has obvious oxygen-consuming properties in the water body, which easily deteriorates the water quality.
2）Chemical Wastewater Characteristics
The wastewater component is complex and there are many different kinds of by-products.The reaction raw materials are often solvent-based substances or cyclic structure compounds.All of these increase the difficulty in treating wastewater;

3) Main Categories of Industrial Wastewater:
Inorganic chemical wastewater comes from the production of basic chemical raw materials of acid, alkali and salt from inorganic minerals. Cooling water is the main wastewater during the production of such products.The discharged wastewater contains acid, alkali, a large amount of salts and suspended solids, and sometimes contains sulphides and toxic substances. The component of organic chemical wastewater is diversified.These water comes from the production of synthetic rubber, synthetic plastics, artificial fibers, synthetic dyes, paints, and pharmaceuticals. It has the properties of strong oxygen-consuming and strong toxicity.As most of them are artificial organic compounds,they are difficult to be decomposed and will pollute the environment severely.

In the system, after the particles adhere to the bubbles, a floc having an apparent density smaller than that of water is formed to float to the surface of the water, and the scum layer is scraped off, thereby realizing a process of solid-liquid or liquid-liquid separation.
The flocculation and sedimentation treatment uses a flocculant to cause a process of coagulation and sedimentation of suspended particles in water.
